We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Test Engineer 3, Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) to work out of Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado.

PAY: $140,000 - 160,000

JOB SUMMARY:

Seeking qualified test engineer or subject matter expert with experience on Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) systems. Work with a cohesive team of Test Analysts and Project Managers to accomplish operational test planning, executing, analyzing, and reporting on missile defense or ground-based radar systems to ensure installed system upgrades operate as expected and accomplish mission needs. Analyze software and hardware requirements to ensure feasibility of design and applicability to the system under test. Develop thorough test procedures and detailed test plans to ensure new hardware or software upgrades are thoroughly tested. Generate test reports containing data analyses and recommendations concerning the acceptability of the upgrades and any limitations identified. Direct and/or participate in all phases of test management with the emphasis on user requirements, test design and identification of required test tools. Analyze recorded data collected during test evaluations and report out independent findings as prescribed by approved guidance. Confer with other test team members on the acceptability of the test design, analysis results, or final report documentation and provide feedback on other test activities accomplished within in the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Use Matlab and JMP to parse test data and conduct data analysis to determine system performance.
  • Research system mission and expected performance parameters to build test scope consisting of relevant Critical Operational Issues, Objectives, and Measures of Effectiveness and Suitability.
  • Identify viable and operationally realistic test methods to be used to obtain test data. Methods may include live fire events, virtual events, Hardware-In-The-Loop events, subsystem testing, events involving digital simulations, or other events as needed.
  • Develop a test approach that includes adequate data sampling to perform definitive statistical analysis.
  • Plan and conduct dry runs to validate expected data collection and data analysis methods.
  • Develop documentation to include test plans, test execution procedures, data analysis plans, evaluation reports, and required briefings.
  • Create surveys to evaluate system acceptability of documentation, training, safety, and other areas as applicable.
  • Direct data collection activities and verify all required evaluation objectives are complete.
  • Evaluate data and assess system performance using the collected evaluation data, the validated truth data, and the methodologies and tools developed during evaluation planning.
  • Submit deficiency reports when problems are identified that limit system performance or for system enhancements that should be incorporated in future system upgrades.
  • Write technical reports to accurately describe results and problems encountered during test events.
  • Present evaluation results and recommendations for review and comment, ensure all documents and briefings comply with established guidance.
  • Assist other analysts by reviewing and providing constructive comments to planning documents, technical reports, final report briefings or other documents and needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 years of technical experience in test design, analysis, and test support in evaluating space operations systems or other technical test and evaluation in an operational environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 years of technical experience in Ground-Based Radar Missile Warning/Missile Defense (UEWR, EWR, Cobra Dane, Eglin or PARCs), DoD, or USAF /USSF Operational Test and Evaluation test design, analysis, and test reporting in operational environments.
  • Experience with MATLAB and JMP data analysis programs.
  • Understanding of Design of Experiments (DoE) fundamentals.
  • Possess or can obtain working knowledge of USAF and USSF test and evaluation directives.
  • Able to use data reduction tools to analyze raw data and identify signification system deficiencies.
  • Understand how to evaluate common system effectiveness and suitability factors including reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Background in Developmental or Operational Testing.
  • Familiarity with the Counter Communications or Bounty Hunter Systems

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in related field OR equivalent experience may be used in lieu of degree requirement.

TRAVEL: 25%
