Job/Internship Description

We are Hydro, Inc., a global industrial pump engineering company located in the West Loop in Chicago. We have an opportunity for the right individual to join an entrepreneurial, world class global engineering services and manufacturing company. This position is for a Human Resources Intern who will work alongside the corporate HR team providing support for the organization's strategic human capital initiatives.
This position will be part-time and is flexible around your school schedule. We are looking for candidates to work 20-25 hours a week. Depending on the workload, this may be an on-going internship with no specified end-date.
This ideal candidate is a student who has taken classes in a field relevant to HR and is looking to gain hands-on experience in a corporate environment. The position will be in-person, not remote.

Key Job Duties:

  • Assist the HR team in talent acquisition efforts including candidate sourcing, recruitment, conducting structured interviews, and creating offer letters
  • Prepare and maintain documents and records related to HR processes such as hiring, termination, leave of absence, transfers, and promotions
  • Utilize the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to audit reports and personnel information
  • Help facilitate onboarding processes such as new hire orientation and compilation of necessary records
  • Support employee training and development efforts
  • Review and edit job descriptions to update relevant KSAOs and competencies
  • Engage in proactive learning efforts to better understand how company goals align with HR processes
  • Assist in any other administrative duties as needed

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) a plus


Experience & Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in human resource management, business administration, organizational development, industrial/organizational psychology, or related field
  • 1 year of general work experience preferred

  • Chicago, IL 60607: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
