Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and we encourage you to apply early.About the Team:The Digital Crimes & Converged Security pillar collects, analyzes, investigates and stores data related to the root causes of an incident or event, identifying patterns and organized criminal networks globally. As a function of the investigative process we seek to disrupt, pursue and deter illegal activities on our platform. Part of our deterrent mission is to coordinate with our partners and international organizations to bring a stop to the criminal activities through legal processes and prosecutions. Our unit also maintain the digital forensics laboratory and provide computer and digital forensics analysis in support of our Legal team and investigators. Responsibilities:- Conduct in-depth investigations through the use of various investigative techniques and technologies in collaboration with TikTok/ByteDance Legal.- Support legal and litigation services to include investigative support, interviews, and case reporting as necessary. - Collect and preserve evidence as needed for legal processes and proceedings. - Investigators and forensics teams will ensure that chain of custody is established and evidence is properly stored and legal standards are maintained.- Conduct e-discovery and legal preservation in support of litigations and legal holds.- Conduct computer forensics, imaging and other digital analysis in support of investigations.- Conduct analysis of root cause and case linkage.- Develop and maintain liaison with law enforcement and regulatory agencies, coordinate after-action, and intelligence sharing in the event of a need to escalate incidents.- Work with cross functional teams, content developers, other business units to develop use cases, alerting rules and know your customer (KYC) to identify criminal and civil crimes occurring on our platform. - Work cross functionally to develop solutions for identified risk and recommend mitigations. - Provide training and best practices.QualificationsQualifications- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Sociology, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Security Management, or a related field.- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship.- Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2022.- Strong interpersonal skills; a team player and great communicator with a passion for building sustainable programs for high-growth organizations.-Familiar with project management principles. Comfortable with developing and executing a project plan.- Demonstrated understanding of Design Thinking Principles, Change Management, and/or Organizational Design.- Proven ability to develop sound research methodologies and collect, synthesize, analyze, and interpret data.- Able to understand and apply legal principles and doctrine. - Able to compile data and compose concise and logical reports.- Able to analyze data in support of a program or investigations.- Willing to assist investigators in case development.- Ability to assist our program managers to ensure our projects are on-track and updated.TikTok is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
