We have an excellent opportunity for a Health IT Program Consultant in our National Center office in Dallas, TX.

The Health IT Program Consultant will be responsible for successfully managing new and existing client relationships, in development and ongoing management of practice-managed, electronic health record (EHR) or technology vendors, new business development and technical implementation efforts to increase program adoption of Get With The Guidelines-Outpatient, and further the expansion of the program with the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association. The Manager will interact with new and existing vendors, both business and technical representatives, to assist in contract negotiation, data specification updates, field mapping and tracking of vendor-provided elements.

Major Responsibilities Include:
1. Sets the vision for adoption of health technology and electronic health record vendors, and executes on the Get With The Guidelines'Outpatient program.
2. Directly responsible for registration, contracting and implementation of new electronic health record vendors participating in Get With The Guidelines-Outpatient.
3. Works closely with other departments and senior management staff to identify opportunities that expands ACS/ADA/AHA resources by strategic alignment of program objectives with those of healthcare technology alliances including alignment with governmental, non-profit, corporate and managed care organizations.
4. Responsible for developing strategy, positioning, opportunities and recommendations for the ACS/ADA/AHA in the category of e-health and Health IT.
5. Develops and manages volunteer working groups, as necessary, to support Outpatient Quality and Health IT initiatives.
6. Sets the direction for the Outpatient data warehouse vendor as it relates to their role as the chosen vendor for EHR vendor compatibility testing, data collection, data warehousing, and data analytics.
7. Regularly advises and/or consults with upper management and appropriate volunteer committees/advisory work groups regarding project developments and issues.
8. Creates customized initiatives to meet needs of targeted health information technology audiences.
9. Develops strategies and initiatives that will drive either greater results (leverages) or new business opportunities with technology vendors and provide significant leadership with these business relationships.
10. Assists in development of effective health information technology vendor business plans, including marketing strategies and product and service enhancements.

Required Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in technology, business, or related degree required, master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
2. 5 years experience in health information technology/electronic health record platforms, in particular, with Health IT stakeholders, alliances, and adoption of Health IT within the outpatient setting.
3. At least 3 years of project management experience (with the skills to manage in a team environment) involving strategic planning, budgeting, and directing projects resources with a track record to deliver results against goals and objectives.
4. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external corporate executives, clinical/technical volunteers and staff.
5. Proven ability to think analytically, integrate multiple sources of information, effectively solve complex problems and make effective decisions.
6. Knowledge of platforms, principles and practices of health technology/electronic health record vendors.
7. Experience developing strategic relationships between ACS/ADA/AHA and other entities
8. Extensive knowledge of other national outpatient quality improvement based initiatives and health information technology exchanges and alliances.
9. Knowledge of practices and trends associated with new and emerging marketing strategies.
10. Ability to travel throughout the United States up to 40% of the time.
